Dancehall/Reggae, Afro-fusion and R&B artist Squeeze Tarela, best known for his creativity and infectious energy, releases a hot new track titled ‘Cocoa Butter’ on the back of his recent crowning as the ‘Best Reggae Artiste of The Year’ at the Akademia Music Awards in LA.

Squeeze tarela cocoa butterA fun, playful, afro-reggae beat coupled with romantic lyrics is everything we need for a summer hit from the artist fondly dubbed the ‘Record Killa’ by his fans. The track, which premiered with DJ Target on BBC Radio 1Xtra, follows previous singles such as ‘Hottest Thing’ and ‘Better’, which have awarded him hundreds of thousands of YouTube views and Spotify streams. ‘Hottest Thing’ became an instant hit, staying on the U.K Urban Club charts for seven weeks and peaking at the 13th position. The song and music video was added to playlists across Africa and Europe including; BBC 1Xtra, Ben TV, Trace Nigeria, Channel AKA, Vox Africa, Planet Radio TV, Soundcity FM, The Beat 99.9FM, Nollywood TV, The Beat 106.3 FM London, Hip TV, TVC, Galaxy, KISS FM LAGOS etc.

Squeeze tarelaHaving launched an online series titled ‘The Record Killa Series’ where Squeeze Tarela rearranged popular songs such as Davido’s ‘If’ and Wizkid’s ‘Come Closer’ and Drake’s ‘Yeah Yeah’, he created such a buzz online that the records were often said to be better than originals. Squeeze continues to hit the international headlines and recently featured in the Jamaica Observer following his win as the ‘Best Reggae Artiste of The Year’

Set to continue his ascent through the music world, Cocoa Butter is yet another piece of quality work from this impeccable artist. A captivating visual mirrors the gloss and good vibe of the record. Influences from across the continents are captured in the sounds and vision that are put together in the perfect summer package.
