The Beguiled unfolds during the Civil War, at a Southern girls’ boarding school. Its sheltered young women take in injured enemy soldier Corporal McBurney (Farrell). The girls all seek the attention of the handsome soldier, and he relishes the attention. And the women all soon forget that he fights for the enemy but still can’t resist his charming ways, especially Edwina (Dunst), who falls for him in two seconds flat. But with temptation comes lust, and another one of the girls wants to have their way with him, leading to a detrimental event.
