The Better World Fund at the 79th Venice Film Festival presents: “Food, Health & Sustainability” on September 8th & 9th Better World Fund, a Paris-based non-profit organization raising awareness on critical global issues, will host a big event on “Food, Health and Sustainability,” on September 8th & 9th, during the 79th Venice Film Festival. The event is organized in partnership with the David Lynch Foundation.

The conference will highlight the critical importance of Earth’s precious resources during a series of events for thought-leaders and focus on the immediate need to change agricultural and eating practices to take better care of the planet and global health. The conference theme is in accord with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and will unite filmmakers, writers, scientists, environmentalists, activists, and business leaders to explore and provide tangible efforts to address the environment, biodiversity, and climate challenges.
Better World Fund was established in 2016 to mobilize the combined power of entertainment, technology, brands, and culture to ignite effective change for environmental protection.
“There is an excess of talk about climate change and biodiversity loss, but the time is now to put the spotlight on more specific actionable issues. Food waste, the degradation of our land and food systems, the carbon footprint, and the tremendous impact of food on our health are slow poisons that can ruin generations. It is time to act now, together, and fast,” said Manuel Collas de la Roche, President, and Founder of Better World Fund.

About the Better World Fund partnership with the David Lynch Foundation

Better World Fund is pleased to partner with the David Lynch Foundation tosupport embattled healthcare workers in disease-ridden and war-torn regions whose sole mission is to save
lives. Millions of workers are falling sick and leaving the profession, many are even taking their own lives—placing at risk the very foundations of the healthcare system in many countries. There is no magic bullet—no pharmaceutical pill— that can treat this stress pandemic in a healthy, scalable, cost-effective manner. But hundreds of published research studies show the simple, natural Transcendental Meditation technique can. To address this epidemic, the David Lynch Foundation’s “Heal the Healers Now” initiative is bringing the meditation technique at no cost to many thousands of frontline doctors, nurses, and other providers. But the waiting list is long, and the need is urgent. Your support of Health the Healers Now will mean that many, many thousands more workers will be able to learn this trauma-tested meditation technique right away. Your support will literally save lives. For more information, please visit HealtheHealersNow.org.

The Better World Fund is an endowment Fund, based in Paris.

The Better World was created in 2016 in response to a humanitarian impulse stemming from a society in need of authenticity and truth. Beyond political, religious or cultural differences, we spotlight Women’s Rights, Education, the Environment and Biodiversity. More than ever, we must protect our Planet. The Better World Fund has been organizing, since 2016, a series of high-level events in key locations – this program takes place in different parts of the world, Cannes Film Festival, Venice Film festival,
Los Angeles, Toronto, Monaco, Cairo, New York, Saudi Arabia and at the Dubai Expo 2020. We work together with other influential people from Cinema, Music, Business, Sports and Fashion industries. Our disruptive format makes our High Level events unique: we’ve put together a variety of programs, including a morning Mastermind Conference with influential speakers, a business lunch, a gala dinner with shows, challenges for startups, and prizes from The Better World to recognize the positive impact of businesses and figures from the film industry.
