From March 2020, The Royal Ballet’s Swan Lake returns to the Royal Opera House. This first revival of The Royal Ballet’s celebrated production features debuts from Francesca Hayward, Fumi Kaneko and Mayara Magri as Odette/Odile, and Marcelino Sambé and Cesar Corrales as Prince Siegfried. The production won two Benois de la Danse awards in 2019 for Principal Vadim Muntagirov and designer John Macfarlane.

Celebrated as one of the most famous classics in the ballet canon and set to Tchaikovsky’s iconic score, The Royal Ballet’s Swan Lake, with production and additional choreography also features opulent designs by John Macfarlane, breathing new life into this treasured heritage work. Featuring an array of enchanting solos, spectacular pas de deuxs and atmospheric corps de ballet sequences, this production of Swan-Lake stands alone as a theatrical masterpiece refreshed for a new generation.

Director of The Royal Ballet, Kevin O’Hare, comments: ‘I’m delighted to be bringing back our acclaimed new production of Swan Lake for its first revival in 2020, and this run promises an array of exciting debuts from across the Company. I’m thrilled that audiences all around the world will be able to experience the magic and spectacle of this beloved classical ballet when it’s relayed live to cinemas across the UK and internationally in April.’

Swan Lake will be broadcast live to cinemas on Wednesday 1 April 2020 as part of ROH Live Cinema.
