Photography Collecting Courses with Zelda Cheatle

In the lead up to Photo London 2018, we have the perfect opportunity for you to follow your interest and gain insights from industry experts. We are delighted to welcome the return of two extremely popular photography collecting courses, led by curator, editor, lecturer and consultant Zelda Cheatle.

Prepare for Photo London with Zelda Cheatle – A Course on Collecting

Aimed at seasoned collectors, as well as those who have begun, or are beginning to think about collecting photography the course will include talks, visits to private and museum collections, and practical handling of photographs. You will also explore photography at auction, in commercial galleries and how photography sits within the commercial art world. The six-session course will culminate in a private VIP tour of Photo London 2018.

    Course Programme:

    • Monday 26 March – Introduction, handling and a history of collecting
    • Monday 16 April – How to look after your collection
    • Monday 23 April – Private collection / studio visit
    • Friday 27 April – V&A Museum collection visit (date TBC)
    • Monday 14 May – Personal collecting, with guest speaker
    • Wednesday 16 May, Photo London 2018 preview tour at 11am and day-long access to the Fair

ADDITIONAL: Saturday 19 May, afternoon – Peckham 24 Photography Festival

Revive Your Knowledge with Zelda Cheatle – A Short Course on Collecting

Beginning in late April 2018 (Friday 27 April tbc) with a visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum collection, this two-session course includes the chance to discuss the participating galleries in depth, share knowledge and go on a preview tour of Photo London. The course will aim to highlight the particular works and galleries of interest.
