Plenty of people spend time ensuring that their wardrobes are chock-full of the finest new fashions and styles – but focusing purely on clothes means missing a trick. Accessories can really tie together a new look but, with so many options out there, which are most deserving of your attention in 2023? To help, we’ve brought together some of the top styles around right now.

Sunglasses

This season, sunglasses are very much getting the 70s treatment, with thicker, bolder designs that do away with the Y2K-like slimness of previous years and bring back some oomph.

Look for retro styles including chunky top-bar aviators or bigger models like Ray-Ban’s Wayfarer Oversized, which has a great mix of black plastic and eye-catching gold metal. What’s more, the Leo style from Mister Spex come in a range of frame colours to suit all styles. Coloured lenses can be a good idea too – orange, pink, dark blue; let your creativity inform the tint.

Watches

Having an eye-catcher on your wrist is perfect in warmer T-shirt weather and, when worn with longer, more formal shirts, a watch gives that smart ‘je ne sais quoi’ that would otherwise be lacking.

When it comes to getting the right watch, budget is a pretty big determinant. Less expensive options are available from the likes of Casio, Seiko and Fossil, all of which have brought out great ranges of timepieces this season.

Alternatively, you could go for a much higher-end watch that you’ll treasure. There are dazzling models coming out every season, so you can be almost certain to find one that speaks to your sense of style.

If you’re choosing a luxury watch, then you might want to consider watch insurance for an extra layer of protection for your investment. With it, you typically pay a monthly premium in the same way as you might with home or car insurance, providing peace of mind that, in the result of it being lost or stolen, you can recoup some of the costs. Just make sure that you understand the terms and conditions of the policy before you commit.

Chains

Ever since the fashion world went wild over the Connell chain in 2020, we’ve seen chains increase in popularity massively – a trend which we’re likely to see continue throughout 2023.

Try to eschew thick and chunky chains this spring. A thinner, more delicate design adds a more refined, pared-back style to the wearer. If you still want to make an impact, go for a more spaced-out chain design like a Figaro or rope – or forget steel, silver and gold and go for black-coloured metal instead.
