A nationwide poll has revealed that, when it comes to children’s films, it isn’t only our kids who can’t get enough of them.

In fact, nine in ten of the 2,000 adults surveyed admit that they still LOVE watching kid’s movies, with one in four going to the cinema to watch new releases whether they have a youngster with them or not.

And according to the survey, the 1995 computer-animated adventure, Toy Story is the greatest kids flick of all time.

Produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The feature-film directorial debut of John Lasseter, it was the first feature-length film to be entirely computer-animated, as well as the first feature film from Pixar.

Home Alone came second in the poll with 33% and The Lion King came third (31%).

Shrek (31%), Harry Potter (31%) and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (29%) also made the list, with Mary Poppins, Finding Nemo, Jungle Book and Despicable Me rounding out the top 10.

In fact, 95%of Brits claiming films bring generations together, it’s no surprise that 89% of adults love watching family films. And Researchers from Vue found that 92% of the 1500 Brits polled said it is a good thing for everyone to embrace their inner child on occasion.

And that manifests itself in many different ways, with 83% confessing they find huge comfort in any activities associated with childhood.

“This research proves how much we love family films,” says Johnny Carr, Event Cinema Manager at Vue UK and Ireland. “We have a wide variety of top kids’ films on show this year including Disney’s Aladdin, Toy Story 4, and the live action remake of The Lion King, all out this summer.

“With the research showing that families love watching films together on the big screen, the next few months will be a treat for kids, and adults, of all ages.”

Interestingly, women are more likely to enjoy watching kids’ films (92%) than men (85%).
