Following the success of last year’s Industry Take Over seminars in association with CMU:DIY, Universal Music and Music Week at the renowned Red Bull Studios, led by industry experts across Relentless Records, MTV UK, Boiler Room, Metropolis Music and GRM Daily, the award-winning music development organisation Urban Development is excited to announce the return of their seminal Industry Take Over All Dayer to London on Saturday, February 23.

Industry take over all dayer 2019
Taking place in the heart of Kings Cross, at the burgeoning arts and conference venue Kings Place, the Industry Take Over All Dayer is the number one event for anybody that is hoping to get ahead in the music and creative industries in 2019. The All Dayer will be led by seminars, debates, workshops, networking sessions and 1-to-1 advice, perfect for aspiring artists, managers, industry professionals and music entrepreneurs to gain valuable knowledge, meet industry leaders and get a much needed foot in the door.

This year’s masterclasses and seminars, carefully put together by Urban Development, will feature artists and influencers such as Novelist, Big Zuu, J2K, Mercedes Benson (Complex UK), and Nadia Jae (BBC 1Xtra, SBTV), and be led by the Polydor Records/Universal Music and CMU:DIY driven ‘How To Steal My Job’ session, ‘Management Matters’, hosted by The Music Managers Forum, ‘Get Played, Get Paid’, in association with PRS For Music and PPL, ‘Brands, Bands and Fans’, driven by Equate Magazine, and ‘How To Secure The Bag (Making Money From Music 2019)’ powered by Association Of Independent Music (AIM), while this year’s main panel debate, will be driven by media partners Reprezent Radio’s ‘Sunday Roast Live’.

A&R Essentials, powered by BPI, is back for another year running, and will offer emerging artists the opportunity to play their music to respected A&Rs and music programmers, in their very own 10-minute one-on-one consultation, while the Take Over Showcase Sessions, which have been known for unearthing the very best underground talent and showcasing some of the scene’s best artists including Ghetts, Chip, Paigey Cakey, and Big Zuu, will be curated by GUAP Magazine and FUTURE SNDS this year.

The much talked about Industry Take Over Open Mic competition returns, in conjunction with My Runway Group, and with top industry experts and A&Rs including Universal Music’s Adele White, Warner Records UK’s Jack Duckworth, Davina Merchant (Downtown Music Publishing), Riyad Felix (Since 93/Sony Music UK), Joel Borquaye from BBC Radio 1 and BBC 1Xtra, Dan Owusu (BMG), and Nikki Camilleri (Believe), also offering their support and insight throughout the All Dayer event, this is an opportunity not to be missed. The winner of the Industry Take Over Open Mic competition will be performing at The Great Escape, one of the UK’s biggest festivals for new and emerging music, in Brighton in May.

Speaking about the inspiration for this year’s Industry Take Over All Dayer, Urban Development Founder and CEO Pamela McCormick, says, “It is incredibly exciting to return bigger than, with our annual Industry Take Over All Dayer and literally take over Kings Place this month. Urban Development has been at the centre of the conversation regarding British urban grassroots culture for nearly twenty years and we have more than earned our stripes as a key industry player championing, supporting and promoting urban talent, as well as expanding the opportunities for underprivileged BAME youth in this country.

We are delighted to partner this year with Polydor Records/Universal Music, Complex UK, Reprezent Radio, GUAP magazine and FUTURESNDS, as well as the industry’s most important organisations and I would like to thank them all for their continued support.  With more events lined up for later in the year, we will continue to provide a pipeline into the industry for our core demographic of young, diverse creators and burgeoning music industry professionals as part of our commitment to create lasting change enabling young, diverse talent to pursue their creative ambitions, fuelling urban arts and cultural industries of the future”.

Urban Development’s Industry Take Over All Dayer 2019 takes place on Saturday, February 23 at Kings Place. Advanced tickets are available right now via Eventbrite.
