The Fall time is the most anticipated season for Fashion worldwide, offering opportunities to attend fashion shows and shopping new collections of the season in a physical location. However, this year the global market was faced with a new reality due to pandemic, which allowed all industries to perform virtually! As a result, the Award-Winning Fashion Community Week featured its first ever virtual fashion week from September 24 th through 27 th and it was the first of its kind in California!
The four day event exhibited a global fashion tech conference, two days of runway shows featuring local and international designers and an interactive shopping event, featuring ‘Hot off the runway’ collections! The event attracted participants and viewers from all over the globe.
Our first day commenced with a Worldwide Fashion Tech Conference, focusing on the conversation on Future of Fashion. The conference featured the founders of five international fashion tech companies: Intelistyle, Easysize, Save your Wardrobe, 3DLook, and Else Corp.
The second day featured the California Dreaming runway show, inspired by the ambiance of California presenting local fashion designers. This fashion show exhibited ready to wear collection by five distinctive brands: Shass Atelier, Julour, Moore Custom Goods, DLK, and Italia A Collection.
Our third day premiered an International Couture show presenting a collection created by six international Couturiers. The fine and intricate handmade evening and bridal gowns were created by designers: IB Bayo, Kiara Afrik, Nubi Collections, Carlitas, Rana Samaan and Elite Pour La Vie.
The final day highlighted Shop the Runway Event, which offered the opportunity to shop designs from ‘Hot off the Runway’- presented in our fashion shows. This event was completely audience interactive, where viewers scanned QR codes listed next to the outfits, to shop the item. Additionally, the shopping pages exhibited 3D electronic models wearing the designs that had capability to zoom, rotate and view the designs closely, creating a ‘real time’ effect for buyers to see detailing of the dresses.
Our fashion week was successful in continuing to offer opportunities for local & global emerging fashion designers and helped support their creativity during the pandemic. Additionally, our unique virtual event was a special place for the global community to bond, interact and create connections.
All four days of the event premiered every day through five social media platforms and website, making it accessible for everyone to view from different parts of the world. Although unusual, it was one of the most successful experience for both the viewers and the creators. The viewership and engagement of the event reached globally, offering exposure and resulting in opportunities for participants.
The entire New Era Virtual Fashion week is still available to view on all of our social media platforms and website, for those who have missed the event.
