YEИDRY Releases Left of Center Empowering Single “YA” Alongside Striking Visuals Filmed in Medellin, Colombia
Trilingual Dominican-Italian songstress YEИDRY releases latest offering, left of center empowering single “YA,” today via RCA Records UK. The genre bending Latinx alternative track created by famed producer Federico Vindver, Timbaland’s protégé known for his work with Kanye West, Coldplay and Justin Timberlake, is another display of the songstress’ versality both as an artist and songwriter.
“‘YA’ represents the self-confidence we all have yet sometimes can’t find. It’s about empowerment, it’s about not letting anyone get in your way and only relying on yourself…living without the fear of death, which to me, is the bravest approach we can take in life,” explains YEИDRY about the new record.
The highly anticipated single arrives alongside striking visuals shot and directed by Kieran Khan (Cardi B, Sean Paul, Buju Banton) and filmed in Medellin, Colombia. The video opens with the songstress chanting “Yo quiero to’!” (I want it all!) as she confidently walks along one of Colombia’s most important rivers, Rio Cauca, which runs from the south of the Andes mountains and descends into the Atlantic Ocean.
Having spent so much time in Colombia this past year and growing to love the country as her second home, YEИDRY vowed to help the NGO Topo Art Medellín which holds space for children in neighboring comunas (projects) to work on their creativity via music and art. The songstress did a workshop and sang for the kids of Topo Art this past April and will be returning next month to participate in additional workshops.
