After 2 years of absence, the Festival will present 76 films in its Selection coming from 33 countries. Paolo Sorrentino’s Jury will award the Étoile d’or to one of the 14 films in Competition screened at the Palais des Congrès.
Screenings for Young Audiences at the Cinéma du Colisée, outdoor screenings on the symbolic Jemaa El Fna Square, an audacious program at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum and conversations around cinema.
Friday, november 11th will begin the 19th edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival.
GUILLERMO DEL TORO’S PINOCCHIO AND THE BOLLYWOOD SUPERSTAR, RANVEER SINGH WILL OPEN THE FESTIVAL
Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio will open the Marrakech International Film Festival. Selected by Rémi Bonhomme, Artistic Director, the film is a marvelous and dark adaptation of the famous tale. The Mexican director’s universe will be put at the center during the opening ceremony.
Ranveer Singh, the famous Indian actor will be honored by Mélita Toscan du Plantier in front of the audience of the Palais des Congrès as well as the Jury of Paolo Sorrentino, alongside Susanne Bier, Oscar Isaac, Vanessa Kirby, Diane Kruger, Justin Kurzel, Nadine Labaki, Laïla Marrakchi, and Tahar Rahim, that will have the heavy duty to choose the Étoile d’or from one of the 14 films in Competition including 10 first features.
