What makes this year’s opening ceremony truly special is the perfect synergy between fashion and opera art. In the heart of Novi Sad, in front of the Serbian National Theatre, we witnessed the harmonious marriage of fashion and music. The chamber orchestra of the Serbian National Theatre filled the ceremony with their musical brilliance, while the members of the Children’s Choir of the Serbian National Theatre and soloist Željko Andrić added an extra dimension to the evening. Both arts were expressed through passion, expression, and emotion. Fashion is the expression of personal style and narrative through clothing, while opera employs the voice to tell a story and express deep emotions. At this grand opening, these two arts came together in an extraordinary way, resulting in a spectacle that touched the hearts of those present.

“Serbia Fashion Week is a platform for the promotion of creativity and artistic expression in various fields,” emphasized the hosts of the program, Jelena and Aleksandar Gajšek, who skillfully guided the audience through an unforgettable night showcasing designs from 22 countries, from France to Cambodia, from Italy to Bulgaria. The makeup artists from the La Prestige Institute for Aesthetics and Cosmetology contributed to the models’ radiant appearance on the runway.

“At the opening ceremony of the 22nd Serbia Fashion Week, we witnessed a fantastic synergy of fashion and opera art. I am proud that from Novi Sad and Serbia, a magical image was sent to the world, a spectacle that showcased the beauty of diverse nations, cultures, and artistic expression, with live performances by the Chamber Orchestra, soloists, and the Children’s Choir of the Serbian National Theatre singing the most beautiful arias,” said Svetlana Horvat, the President of Serbia Fashion Week.

This edition of Serbia Fashion Week will run until October 17th, providing the audience with a series of thrills, including the Serbia Fashion Film Festival, seminars, and exciting fashion shows. Serbia Fashion Week continues to be a place where fashion becomes magic, where creativity is celebrated, and where every evening turns into a fairytale.
