The theme of this year’s contest is “Kids and the City,” and the winners of the contest will have their photographs displayed at exhibitions, first in Istanbul and then in other outstanding cities all over the world.
Turkish Airlines, the airline company that flies to more destinations than any other airline in the world, is dedicating the 2nd International Skylife Photography Contest to the children of the world. Organized for the second time this year, the theme for the Skylife Photography Contest will be “Kids and the City.” Open to participants from all over the world, the contest will accept submissions until November 1, 2017, and the winners will be announced at an award ceremony held on December 9, 2017. The winning photographs will first be displayed at an exhibition in Istanbul and then at exhibitions all over the world.
The theme of the contest is to photograph and capture the relationship between kids and the city in a world where children are unique beings with pure and naïve feelings regardless of where they come from. The small worlds of children are shaped by their journeys and experiences in the city they live in. In addition to promoting discovery and uncovering delightful differences, Turkish Airlines encourages photographers to “press the shutter button” in order to portray the relationship between kids and the city through powerful images.
Having established embracing and bringing together different cultures from all over the world as its philosophy, Turkish Airlines will accept submissions from all photography enthusiasts who capture images that portray kids from all over the world as well as their relationship with the city. This contest will be an important reflection of Skylife’s contribution to promoting travel and local culture as a magazine that works with a prestigious group of national and international writers and photographers. The winning photographs and the stories behind them will be published in Skylife, the in-flight magazine of Turkish Airlines.
The submitted photographs will be evaluated by a jury comprised of international members. In November, the jury will come together in Istanbul and determine the winners after a week-long evaluation. The winners of the contest, which is carried out with the approval of national and international photography federations and associations, will be announced at a special event held on December 9, 2017. The winning photographs will be exhibited for the first time at this event. These photographs will be displayed at many exhibitions that are organized by Turkish Airlines, first in Istanbul and then in other outstanding cities of the world.
