December: it’s time for Laceno d’Oro. The graphic design of the 48th edition of the Festival depicts a woman in full activity: in winter everything seems to come to a standstill, but cinema makes room for the frenzy of images, signals, ideas, and colours. The mind and imagination to better welcome the spring to come, the future that unfolds.

The graphic design of the 48th edition of the Festival depicts a woman in full activity

For this reason, there’s nothing else to do but take part in screenings and masterclasses, concerts and meetings with authors, follow our film previews, discover new international cinema authors, or rediscover works of the past. And we know that the audience of Laceno d’Oro is keen to be open, informed, and in full activity.

Here are some highlights for this Laceno d’Oro week (December 3-10, 2023); to discover all the events you can download the complete program from our website Here.

Sunday, December 3: A full day dedicated to the French social cinema by Robert Guédiguian. The retrospective dedicated to Marseille director kicks off with the screening of “Les Neiges du Kilimandjaro,” followed by a masterclass with the author (free access, we recommend reservation); in the evening, Robert Guédiguian will be awarded the “Pier Paolo Pasolini” Lifetime Achievement Award 2023. Don’t miss the preview of the director’s latest film: “Et la fête continue!” (106’). The film will start as soon as the ceremony is over, followed by a panel discussion with the director.

For the “Laceno d’Oro” 48 competition, noteworthy is “Zinzindurrunkarratz” by Oskar Alegria, in the presence of the director, and the preview of “Samsara” by Lois Patiño, in preview.
