Los Angeles — The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has unveiled the nominations for the 98th Academy Awards, setting the stage for Hollywood’s biggest night on March 15, 2026.

Oscar-nominated actress Danielle Brooks and actor Lewis Pullman announced the nominees on Thursday, January 22, 2026, during a live presentation from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. The announcement was streamed globally across the Academy’s digital platforms, ABC, Hulu, Disney+, and international broadcast partners.
Top Films and Studios
Warner Bros.’ “Sinners” emerged as the most-nominated film of the year with 16 nominations, including Best Picture, Directing (Ryan Coogler), acting nominations for Michael B. Jordan, Delroy Lindo, and Wunmi Mosaku, as well as technical categories such as Cinematography, Sound, and Visual Effects.
Close behind is “One Battle after Another” from Warner Bros., which earned 13 nominations, including acting nods for Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro, and Teyana Taylor, along with Best Picture and Directing (Paul Thomas Anderson).
Several films tied with nine nominations, including:

Focus Features’ “Hamnet” followed closely with eight nominations, including Best Picture, Directing (Chloé Zhao), and a leading actress nomination for Jessie Buckley.
