On October 1, 2022 at 7pm at the Carrousel du Louvre, the Parisian public was blown away by the discovery of a new generation of hyper-connected fashion designers. The immeasurable talent of young designers who came from the four corners of the world to present their spring/summer 2023 collections on the bangs of Paris Fashion Week turned trends upside down. Highly connected to social networks and aware of the upheaval of codes and lifestyles in the world since the pandemic, they seek through their creativity to challenge consciences.

    Ashlyn So

Ashlyne So, a 14 year old Chinese-American designer who uses fashion as a means to break down prejudices and defend various causes for which she has been praised by the American press, including Teen Vogue. She presented a collection whose scissors stroke echoes the new generation concerned about the issues and the environment in which they evolve. It all started the day Ashlyn returned from sewing camp at the age of 6. She was obsessed! She loves to draw, then drape, pin and sew. She always wanted to dress like her mom, so she started sewing her own way.Ashlyn also loves helping others. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ashlyn started making masks for frontline workers, to protect the heroes who keep us safe and healthy. She was later named a People’s Hero by E! People’s Choice award in late 2020. She has since made 1,000 masks.

In early 2021, still in the midst of the pandemic, she saw reports of Asian elders being abused, injured and murdered. She mustered all her strength and energy to launch not one, but two rallies for #standforasians and Stop AAPI Hate. Since then, she has spoken at numerous rallies, conferences, news shows, and TV specials to raise awareness and created a petition to include AAPI history in school curricula. Ashlyn has shown her collections at fashion shows, including New York Fashion Week, where she combines fashion and activism.

    Adam Saaks.

More than a designer, an artist, seen on TV or read in fashion magazines, transforming an ordinary piece of fabric into a sexy and provocative dress? Yes, that’s Adam Saaks. He is a fashion designer and a Youtuber. He has been in the fashion industry for over 27 years. He is famous for his live t-shirt cutting performances and has made a name for himself in the fashion industry for his unique style of “cutting” clothes…He will amaze you when you see what he can do with a pair of scissors. Adam is no ordinary stylist, he cuts the fabric while his model is wearing it! He has worked with many stars such as Eminem, Katy Perry, Shakira, etc… In the 90’s, he was a stylist for 10 years. During this period, he spent a lot of time in nightclubs and raves, watching people and getting inspired by all the styles he saw. He lived in San Francisco, a very international city, and fashion was predominant in the underground scene. Through exposure to all of this, he took style ideas from the people he saw and became a bit obsessed with perfecting his look. What happened next was something he didn’t see coming, people started asking him for fashion advice. He soon had clients for personal shopping, and soon after, he ended up getting style agents in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Chicago.
