Interview with Dr Ahmed El Muntasar, the cosmetic and aesthetic doctor favored by celebrities and VIPs

Christmas is approaching and now is the time to write your letter to Santa!
Christmas is a time you really want to look your best.
There are many reasons why women and men choose to have anti-ageing treatments, such as Botox and fillers, but Christmas is known as an especially popular time for top-ups and treatments. Kris Jenner, well known matriarch to the Kardashian clan, even talked about gifting Botox treatments to her friends and family for Christmas last year – showing that many people are happy to talk openly about having Botox.
Here are just a few reasons why Christmas is such a popular time for cosmetic treatments:
- Impressing colleagues (and bosses!)
- Looking fresh and youthful for family
- Hiding the fact that you’re actually shattered with all that rushing around
- Giving yourself a little boost
- A pre-Christmas gift to yourself
- Making sure you look gorgeous for the new year coming!
We met with Dr Ahmed El Muntasar who is one of the leading cosmetics and aesthetics doctors in the UK, with a clinic in Mayfair, London. His Instagram page @drahmedaesthetics has amassed over 650k followers. I want to know a bit more about Botox and why this could be a good gift for Christmas.
Botox injections are now one of the most popular cosmetic treatments in the world, could you please tell us why on your point of view?
Generally people are much more open about Botox and it’s often talked about in the media, which has led to people feeling much more confident about looking into it and having it done. It’s not as much of a taboo as it once was.
I find that the large majority of people love the results and it becomes part of their regular beauty routine but for people new to Botox it’s nice to have the reassurance that it’s temporary and they can change it later down the line if they want to.
It’s also fantastic at helping combatting the signs of ageing such as reducing the appearance of wrinkles. And so you find that as people age they naturally become interested in the treatment.
How long does it last?
Botox will last 3-6 months.
Are the injections safe?
Botox has been around for decades and as long as it’s administered correctly, then it’s perfectly safe. Finding a practitioner who is properly trained and qualified is essential.
Are there any side-effects to Botox?
If administered correctly, there are no side effects and the person can go about their usual daily life straight away. However, if administered incorrectly then it could lead to various problems such as facial asymmetry and muscle weakness which could affect the ability to bite. I talk about this a lot but going to a properly qualified practitioner is so important! Not just with Botox but with any aesthetics treatment.
What happens if I stop my Botox top-ups?
Slowly it will diminish and line and wrinkles will begin to reappear, as will movement. This doesn’t happen overnight and will happen over time.
Which celebrities use Botox?
Where do I start – most of them use Botox! Many are happy to talk about it and have been quoted in the media such as Cindy Crawford, Kris Jenner and Simon Cowell.
Why do you think Botox could be a nice present for Christmas for the beauty lovers?
Botox enhances natural beauty and gives people a smoother complexion and more ‘glow’ to their skin.
Plus it’s temporary so for those who are new to it can try it out and if they don’t like it, they can choose to not get any more.
