The Zurich Film Festival introduces the three juries for its Feature Film, Documentary Film and Focus competition categories. They will each present a Golden Eye endowed with a CHF 25’000 cash prize during the Award Night at Zurich Opera House on October 1, 2022.

Illustrious names from the world of auteur cinema make up the three festival juries at this year’s ZFF: The Iranian filmmaker and two-time Academy Award winner Asghar Farhadi (A SEPARATION, THE SALESMAN) presides over the jury for the International Feature Film Competitio. He is joined by Swiss-born Petra Volpe (DIE GÖTTLICHE ORDNUNG) and the producer Daniel Dreifuss (NO) to judge the feature films in this competition category.

The Focus Competition jury is presided over by the producer Christine Vachon from Killer Films. Together with her company, Vachon has produced movie hits like BOYS DON’T CRY, I’M NOT THERE and FAR FROM HEAVEN over the past twenty years.

The president of the Documentary Film Competition jury is Alexander Nanau. He has won a Golden Eye for each of his documentaries TOTO AND HIS SISTERS (2014) and COLLECTIVE (2019).

“We are delighted that the two-time Academy Award-winning Asghar Farhadi is returning to the ZFF to preside over the Feature Film Competition jury,” announced Christian Jungen. “The producer Christine Vachon and the documentary filmmaking master Alexander Nanau are also no strangers to the ZFF. Our competitions are committed to promoting new talent, so it’s an encouragement to all participants that the juries are presided over by such inspiring greats of international auteur cinema.”

The following is an introduction to the jurors. More detailed information will be available shortly on  ZFF website.
