For him, sharp tailoring and provocative flair are two sides of the same coin, just as in the best tradition of French fashion by Jean Paul Gaultier and the late Manfred Thierry Mugler. Last season served as the core of this collection, creating 1930s Art Deco codes and shapes with an added 1980s edge. Vauthier accentuated silhouettes in thicker fabrics like silk and velvet, while silver sequins or light slashes of blue tried to avoid lingering sweetness.
