BRISTOL BASED DJ & PRODUCER [IVY] DROPS NEW SINGLE ‘FIRST TIME’ ALONGSIDE HOTLY ANTICIPATED EP ANNOUNCEMENT

Today, Bristol’s [IVY] has dropped brand new single ‘First Time’ with fellow next generation singer, songwriter, DJ,  and stage host Elipsa. Listen HERE. Of the single [IVY] says:“For “First Time” I went deep into the sound design and tried to incorporate as much of the essence of 00s trance into the basses, melodies, synths and drums. First Time has a bit of a darker angle but still aims to produce the same euphoric feelings of nostalgia as my other tracks, but in a more late-night/blurry setting – where people tend to lose themselves.”

With over 4 million global streams under her belt, [IVY] has gained recognition as one of the UK’s most promising producers on the rave scene. With an adventurous approach to sound, tracks like ‘Close To Me’ and ‘looking 4 me’ led to her being named one of UKF’s iconic “Ones To Watch”. [IVY] began her ascent to underground notability when garnering significant key tastemaker support from DJ Hybrid, Goddard, Charlie Tee and Sarah Story and more. She was included in BBC Radio 1’s “Essential Artists” and was named as an ‘Emerging Artist on Our Radar’ by Beatport. 

Joining an impressive cluster of viral-ready bangers, ‘First time’ collaborator Elipsa is a New Zealand singer, songwriter, DJ, and stage host with rising gravitas. Most notably, her feature on ‘Shut It Down’ with Mollie Collins catapulted her to the forefront of the D&B scene. The multi-talented artist made a significant impact with debut EP ‘Divine’ on UKF and has worked with the likes of Grafix, Kanine, Lee Mvtthews, Goddard, Enei, and Mollie Collins.

Speaking about the collaboration, Elipsa says: “The song’s about being stuck in a cycle of doing something over and over because you’re chasing the euphoria of the “first time” feeling but never getting there. It’s more comfortable to continue chasing than to let it go, so the cycle continues.”

With a background rooted in European ‘core’, [IVY]’s deep dive into DJing was fueled by Bristol’s well-respected underground drum ‘n’ bass scene. Her driving ability to captivate audiences with dynamic performances and infectious energy allows her to grace electric stages and events around the world including XOYO, Hospitality on the Beach, Boardmasters and EDC Vegas. With another belter of a summer ahead of her, [IVY]’s soaring career is far from the sleepy rural peninsula roots where teenage boredom led to her trademark “house on steroids” sound.
