The 3rd annual Midlands Movies Awards is due to take place at Hansom Hall in Leicester on Saturday 2nd March 2019 with ‘Do Something, Jake’ in the running for ‘Best Feature’. ‘Do Something, Jake’ is the first feature of screenwriter Caroline Spence and director James Smith, making the nomination for ‘Best Feature’ at the Midlands Movie Awards 2019 even more exceptional. The Film was produced in the Midlands without any funding relying on goodwill and resourcefulness of crew and cast. The film receives increasingly international attention and is in talks for international screenings and distribution.
Raya Films is an award-winning writer/director and screenwriter/producer partnership headed by James Smith and Caroline Spence. Since 2004, Raya Films’ award-winning documentary films have enjoyed sell-out theatrical screenings and worldwide broadcast distribution. Since completing their début feature Do Something, Jake, the team are currently developing a number of follow-up features, including the ‘smart’ horror Surveilled. See the list of nominees at www.midlandsmovies.com
