From 4 to 8 May 2022 in Taraz (KAZAKHSTAN) during the 9th season of the International project ASPARA FASHION WEEK will be held “National competition of clothing designers in the style of “Neo-folklore” among colleges of Kazakhstan”.

The purpose of the competition is to identify and promote young talents in the field of the fashion industry to the global world, as well as to preserve the traditions of the Kazakh folk costume and adapt it to modern conditions.

Organizers: Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Institute of Social Development “Rukhani Zhangyru”, Department of Education of the Akimat of Zhambyl region, Kazakhstan brand ASPARA. The main initiator of the competition is a well-known designer from Kazakhstan in the fashion industry – Aidarkhan Kaliyev. In 2017, in order to promote creative youth to international markets, popularize the image of Kazakhstan, Aidarkhan Kaliyev founded the International Project “Aspara Fashion Week”. The last, 8th season of Aspara Fashion Wee(www.asparafashionweek.com, https://clck.ru/QcwCc, https://clck.ru/QcwH7, https://clck.ru/QcwLA) k was held on October 7-10, 2021 in a combined mode, it presented the fashion collections of 100 designers from 40 countries and was attended by more than 30 international fashion experts of the world level. Thanks to this project, the global world learned about the fashion of Kazakhstan, in parallel about the richness of culture and tourism potential. This project provided an opportunity for Asian designers to present their collections at international world catwalks and exhibitions. “Neo-folklore” is a synthesis of the traditions of the costume of nomads and the trends of modern fashion. This is a national dress endowed with the spirit of modernity. Speaking in high style: neo-folklore is a delicate balance between the philosophy of the East and the practicality of Europe. And in simple terms, these are wearable everyday clothes with a good and conditionally ethnic decor. Ideally, models in the style of “neo-folklore” can be immediately used from the podium in sewing production, put on mass production. And this already requires certain compositional and aesthetic solutions, convenience and practicality. ”

Objectives of the competition:
1. Stimulation of interest in the traditions of folk costume among novice fashion designers;
2. Adaptation of students’ creative works to the conditions of modern production;
3. Stimulation of the cult of knowledge and awareness of competitiveness in the Global Fashion Industry among young Kazakhstani designers.
