Ahead of Europe’s largest and highly anticipated National Asian Wedding Show and India Fashion Week which are set to return to the UK on 11th and 12th November 2017, this time debuting at Olympia London, we thought you might be interested in the latest trends for wedding dresses amongst the Asian community, as anticipation for the show continues to grow.

The shows boast the accolade of being the largest indoor Asian consumer event in Europe, with 340 exhibition stands covering over 8,000 square metres. This year’s edition will look to replicate and build on the unprecedented success of last year’s event, which was attended by over 19,500 visitors for the two-day show.

Corresponding with a more modern India, this year’s bridal wear represents the fashion-forwardness of the country. Blending Western fashion with traditional Indian culture, 2017’s bridal wear is modern and dynamic to embody the modern Indian woman.

Over the backdrop of the show, we have some very interesting figures and facts, which you may find useful if you would also like to pursue a feature story:

    • Indian wedding industry is worth £12 billion worldwide, and much of that money is spent by expats living in the UK
    • According to the 2011 census, the UK has an Indian population of more than 1.4 million, so it’s no wonder that the Indian wedding industry is booming in the UK Worth over £3billion a year, the British Asian wedding industry is the second most successful area of entrepreneurship among South Asians living in the UK after the restaurant and catering business.
    • New research shows the average Asian couple in the UK spends upwards of £50,000 on a wedding with lowest figures being around £25,000 – well above the average price of a British wedding which is currently £21,000
