Models appear across the stage in a series of choreographed vignettes as narrators THEO JAMES and REBECCA TREHEARN pastiche literary descriptions of women, slowly transitioning into feminist statements. Visually, this presentation is a homage to the classic film noir genre and the femme fatale’s power, sensuality, intelligence and refusal to play by society’s norms. The audience is invited to consider female power, the potency of sensuality and the historical impact of the male gaze.

For Autumn Winter 2020, EDELINE LEE has collaborated with the award-winning director JOSIE ROURKE. Edeline states: “Collaborating with Josie is a dream, she has always championed women and the female voice through her productions and I am honoured to be working with her.” Josie states: “I have long-admired Edeline’s bold and thoughtful work, and her celebration of women, in our many forms. I’m currently directing City of Angels, a film noir musical, with a femme fatale at the heart of its story. This collaboration with Edeline is an exploration of this powerful, dangerous, and persistent female archetype.”
