Former Galatasaray executive and a key figure in the club, Erden Timur, met with Galatasaray fans in London.
Invited by Galatasaray Association UK, the official Galatasaray fan community in the UK, Timur answered questions on various topics, from his management career to his personal life. The London-based association is led by Ümit Erbek. Timur, who served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Galatasaray Sportif A.Ş. between 2022 and 2024, expressed his satisfaction with having more time for his family after stepping down from his management roles.
“Taking Initiative Leads to Success”
The event was attended by Ahmet Halit, Director of Hafız Mustafa 1864, and Gökhan Özkan, Managing Director at JP Morgan. Known for his distinctive management style at Galatasaray, Timur shared insights on the importance of taking initiative and making bold decisions in leadership. He also mentioned how much he missed spending time at the club’s headquarters in Florya with the players and staff. Despite his young age, he noted that players saw him as an “older brother.”
Timur emphasized the importance of setting corporate values and having the courage to implement them, stating that dedication plays a fundamental role in one’s search for meaning.
Football and Social Responsibility
Timur stressed that football is not just about winning matches and trophies but also about benefiting society. He highlighted the unifying power of social projects and gave examples of relief efforts carried out after the February 6 earthquakes in Turkey.

The 43-year-old lawyer and businessman Erden Timur is the founder and chairman of Nef Yapı, a leading real estate company. Born on November 16, 1981, in Mersin, Timur graduated from Tarsus American College and later earned his law degree from Marmara University in 2005. He also pursued studies at the London School of Economics.
According to Forbes’ 2020 data, Timur ranks among Turkey’s 100 richest people, with a net worth of $400 million. He continues to stand out as an influential figure in both business and sports.
