London Fashion Week has always been a meeting point for cultures, ideas and emerging creative voices. For Spring/Summer 2027, FLAPPER6 stepped into that conversation with a London presentation that placed Indian craftsmanship alongside a distinctly contemporary vision of womenswear.

Presented on 20 September at Fashion Scout, 31 New Inn Yard, Shoreditch, the FLAPPER6 SS27 catwalk brought the label’s creative world to the capital, celebrating craftsmanship, femininity and a modern interpretation of heritage.
At the heart of FLAPPER6 is founder and creative visionary Sonal Desai, whose approach to fashion is deeply connected to the craft traditions she encountered growing up in Gujarat. Her early experiences of traditional embroidery and generations of artisans working by hand have helped shape the label’s understanding of clothing and luxury.
Rather than treating traditional techniques simply as decorative additions, FLAPPER6 places craftsmanship at the centre of its design language. Intricate embroidery, embellishment and fine needlework meet contemporary silhouettes, creating a dialogue between heritage and modern femininity.
Heritage, Reimagined
What makes FLAPPER6 particularly interesting within London’s international fashion landscape is its relationship between history and modernity.
The house takes techniques rooted in Indian craftsmanship and translates them for a contemporary wardrobe, demonstrating how heritage can evolve without losing its identity.
The result is a vision of luxury that looks beyond seasonal trends. FLAPPER6 champions pieces intended to feel considered and enduring, with the human touch and skill behind each garment becoming part of its value.
From India to London
London proved a fitting setting for the SS27 presentation. The capital has long been recognised as a place where different cultures, creative disciplines and approaches to fashion intersect, making Fashion Scout in Shoreditch an appropriate stage for FLAPPER6’s international outlook.

There is something particularly compelling about seeing Indian artisanal traditions presented through the vocabulary of contemporary luxury. Rather than asking the wearer to choose between heritage and modernity, FLAPPER6 demonstrates how the two can coexist.
The collection speaks to a woman who is confident in her individuality and interested in clothing that carries a story beyond its immediate visual impact.
A Different Kind of Luxury
Perhaps one of the most compelling ideas behind FLAPPER6 is its interpretation of luxury itself.
At a time when fashion moves at extraordinary speed, the label turns attention back towards the details: craftsmanship, specialist knowledge, intricate handwork and the people responsible for bringing a garment to life.
That philosophy does not mean sacrificing glamour. FLAPPER6 remains feminine, polished and expressive, but beneath the surface is a more considered approach to fashion—one where craftsmanship and cultural memory can be just as significant as the finished silhouette.
With its SS27 London presentation, FLAPPER6 brought Indian heritage into a contemporary fashion conversation, demonstrating that tradition need not remain in the past. In the right hands, it can become part of fashion’s future.
