Award winning, genre bending rapper, producer, activist and multi-instrumentalist Dizraeli returns with his new album ‘Alive At The End Of The World: Set One’, part one of a double album release of live recordings from his recent, pioneering tour The Twenty Years Deep Tour – an ecologically and socially responsible tour that exists as a model for other artists.
Having had widespread acclaim (The Guardian, Q, Mojo, Songlines, Folk Radio to name a few) and collaborated with massive artists as diverse as Kae Tempest, Beardyman, Jam Baxter and Eliza Carthy, Dizraeli has gained a number of accolades throughout his career and built a reputation with appearances on SBTV and sell out tours across the UK.
A passionate climate activist and campaigner, Dizraeli’s recent tour was built around the idea of being as sustainable as possible with 3 key aims. Here they are in his words :
1.Make sense ecologically

Travel using trains and low-carbon vehicles wherever possible

Plant trees in every city we visit, distribute wildflower seed to every audience & spread biodiversity

Connect with local food producers & promote (and eat) their work

Make all merchandise from recycled or sustainable materials where possible.
2.Meaningfully connect communities

Collaborate with community choirs, giving them a professional platform to perform in front of their communities and leaving them with pro recordings and video of their work

Offer free tickets to young people who are interested in the arts who do not usually have access to these kinds of events, and give a paid platform to talented young artists from disadvantaged backgrounds to perform at the events.

Make one of the shows into an interactive livestream so those who can’t physically attend can be there.
3.Have a legacy that matters

Many artists I know who have a social and environmental conscience are looking for ways to do things differently, but don’t know where to start. The story of this tour will exist as a model for those artists, and therefore seed many more similar tours in future.
The new album ‘Alive At The End Of The World: Set One’ serves to further amplify this message whilst also showcasing Dizraeli’s unique folk-come-hip-hop soundscapes from his 8 piece ensemble. A fascinating collection of tracks showcasing some dazzling, beguiling and beautiful soundscapes topped with a wash of soulful backing vocals and Dizraeli’s unique poetic lyricism.
The album’s lead single, ‘Morning Light’ is a sunlit tribute to joyful rebellion, and a heartfelt homage to the singer’s dad. Built around a pool of uplifting vocal harmonies over layers of synths, strings and vibraphone, Dizraeli’s ever emotive and poignant, poetic flow. Dizraeli says, “I learned from Dad that all change needs a Yes as well as a No. It needs the No first, then the Yes. This song is the Yes. I hope it carries the same determined optimism that my dad has always had.”
With an immense history of success, widespread acclaim, sell out UK tours and appearances at Glastonbury, WOMAD and the Main Stage of Shambala, the recent The Twenty Years Deep Tour’s finale was a huge, sold-out show at the O2 Academy in Bristol, with an audience of 1,000 people, featuring the 8-piece band and two local choirs. A hugely talented artist with immense artistic vision, strong values and the determination to change the music industry for the better, Dizraeli is a fascinating artist with so much to offer.
