A brand new ‘what if’ comedy, The Funny Girls, brings together two legendary talents, Barbra Streisand and Joan Rivers, in a fantastical showdown of ego. This exciting fictional reunion is spawned from the pair’s infamous meeting pre-fame and fortune in a lesbian rendezvous off-off-off-Broadway. Written by Roy Smiles (Kurt and Sid; Ying Tong), the production will receive a run from 26th October to 21st November at Upstairs at The Gatehouse in North London.
The Funny Girls is a hilariously fast-paced game of wit and wisecracks from two Jewish juggernauts in their prime. Stepping into the shoes of the world-renowned superstars will be Mia Tomlinson (The Beast Must Die, Britbox; The Lost Pirate Kingdom, Netflix) and Rosanna Harris (Grease, UK tour). The production is directed by Michael Strassen (Falling Stars; Assassins; Billy).
