Genaro Rivas, the Peruvian designer has unveiled his highly anticipated AW24 collection titled “Beautiful James” at London Fashion Week (19.02.24). The collection, a culmination of Rivas’s journey of creative self-discovery and collaboration, brings together elements of renewal, strength, and the pursuit of freedom.

Inspired by the Placebo song of the same name, “Beautiful James” signifies a pivotal moment in Rivas’s career, merging his South American roots with his East London influences. Crafted in East London using premium Peruvian materials such as alpaca, the collection showcases contemporary silhouettes intertwined with classical shapes, symbolising the diversity of individualism and the journey towards self-realisation.

At the heart of the collection lies the motif of the swan, symbolising regeneration, grace, and inner essence in Celtic tradition. Each piece embodies the essence of renewal and balance, reflecting Rivas’s vision of empowering individuals through clothing and image.

“Beautiful James” stands as a testament to Rivas’s belief in the power of community and collaboration within the fashion industry. The collection has been brought to life through the contributions of talented artisans from both East London and Peru, fostering local communities united by the shared pursuit of creative expression

Prior to his London Fashion Week debut, Genaro Rivas was honoured as part of the London College of Fashion’s Postgraduate Class of 2024 and had the privilege of meeting with the Duchess of Edinburgh, further solidifying his status as a rising star in the fashion world.
