    Then for the first time, Ralph Lauren representatives will be flying onto Italy where they will continue their tour with two Italian fashion institutes.

    Alongside these masterclasses, representatives of Ralph Lauren will be interviewing and viewing portfolios from second year students for paid opportunities at the company’s New York headquarters next summer. The Graduate Fashion Foundation offers the opportunity to scout top students from our pool of talent at member universities.

    These extra-curricular professional talks provide much needed preparation for the undergraduates and key tips on life after graduation, helping them make the most of the opportunities on offer, as well as the best way to present their work, speak to recruiters and secure jobs. They will include discussions on; marketing & PR career paths, how to success at GFW, cv advice, what makes a good graduate collection, digital and social promotional tips.

    The day of masterclasses will be compiled of two speakers from Graduate Fashion Foundation and one representing Ralph Lauren.

    The five-day UK tour of masterclasses will be held at a host university with three neighbouring universities attending;

    Mon 4th Nov – Northumbria University (Edinburgh College of Art, Heriot Watt, Glasgow School of Art)
    Tues 5th Nov – Sheffield Hallam University (University of Huddersfield, Leeds Art University, School of Art at Manchester Metropolitan University)
    Weds 6th Nov – De Montford University (Nottingham Trent university, Northampton University and Birmingham City University)
    Thurs 7th Nov – Ravensbourne (Kingston University)
    Friday 8th Nov – Brighton University (Arts University Bournemouth, Greater Brighton Met University, Portsmouth University)

    The three-day International tour of masterclasses will be held at:

    Monday 11th Nov – Accademia Costume & Moda – Rome Wednesday 13th Nov – Istituto Marangoni – Milan

    Hilary Alexander OBE, President of Graduate Fashion Week comments; “We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Ralph Lauren on our 2019 Graduate Fashion Foundation National Masterclasses. Each year GFF sees exciting and innovative fashion talent take over the catwalk and exhibitions at our main Graduate Fashion Week event. We look forward to sharing industry knowledge and advice with undergraduates from 18 of the charity’s member universities as we continue to support them entering the fashion industry.”

    Graduate Fashion Week is the world’s largest event for BA Fashion talent and will be taking place on the 31st May – 3rd June at The Old Truman Brewery, Shoreditch, London.
