The Zürcher Filmstiftung and the Zurich Film Festival continue on their joint path together to organise what is now the 3rd Zurich Film Stroll on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 – a tour along the value chain of the filmmaking business. Once again, the spotlight is turned on Zurich as a centre of film production, with companies opening their doors and offering interested visitors unique insights into the world of filmmaking.

On September 27, the Zürcher Filmstiftung and the Zurich Film Festival once again turn the spotlight on Switzerland’s movie hotspot. “By international standards, Zurich is a world-class cinema city with more movie theatres per 100’000 inhabitants than say Paris or New York,” explains Christian Jungen, ZFF Artistic Director. “Although people appreciate the variety on offer, they know too little about how many jobs the film industry here actually creates and the revenue it generates.

The Zurich Film Stroll aims to give the general public a new understanding of filmmaking and highlight its many lesser-known facets. Film as a cultural commodity and creative magnet makes a region more diversified, more attractive and more liveable, and local productions carry Zurich stories out into the wider world.

“We are delighted that a whole variety of companies from the moviemaking sector are offering the public a behind-the-scenes peek at the film industry on this special day,” added Julia Krättli, Managing Director of the Zürcher Filmstiftung, “Because the people behind Swiss movies are just as diverse as the movies themselves.”

From financing and development to production and postproduction, the doers and makers of the Zurich film industry offer a fascinating insight into their work, thus allowing visitors to discover how, for example, feature films, documentaries and series are developed, or how costumes are created for characters. The Film Stroll is free of charge and takes place without the need to register from 10.00 – 19.00h.

The following moviemaking-sector companies open their doors for the Zurich Film Stroll:

Aaron Film GmbhAbrakadabra Films AG, Atelier – Eis am See, Glaus&Gut Casting GmbHJingle Jungle AGMaximage GmbH, Rudolf JostShining Film AG, Studio uuuh! KLGSwiss Film School SFSZürcher Filmstiftung
