September 2017: Huntsham Court (www.huntshamcourt.co.uk; 01398 361 277), the exquisite private-hire Victorian mansion close to Tiverton, is ‘pawsitively’ delighted when guests bring their four-legged friends to stay and has launched a selection of special touches just for visiting pooches: Huntsham Hounds.

Inspired by co-owners Christopher Badham and Damian Llambias, Huntsham Hounds helps ensure guests enjoy a truly ‘home from home’ experience at the 35-bedroom Devon manor house. Themselves owners of Elby, a rough-haired Slovakian pointer, they see no reason why four-legged friends should be left out.

Huntsham Court co-owner, Christopher Badham, said: “Home wouldn’t be home without Elby, so we’re thrilled when a four-legged friend can share our guests’ fun at Huntsham Court. Allowing free roaming rights throughout the house and gardens means that our guests’ dogs can explore at will as their human pals succumb to the charm of the house, whether that be to chill out or party on.”

Well-behaved Huntsham Hounds enjoy full access to the entire house and its five acres of gardens, including Garden Cottage and the Gatekeeper’s house, if hired by their owners as part of their celebration or event. They can enjoy their favourite foodie treat during their stay and if they prefer their own bed to cosying up in one of the estate’s 42 suites and bedrooms, comfortable dog beds are available.

For weddings and civil partnerships, special arrangements can be made to accommodate guests’ dogs, whether they are participating in the ceremony or simply enjoying the spectacle.

Badham said: “Dogs are such treasured members of the household and to ensure our guests enjoy the relaxed grandeur of Huntsham Court to the full, it’s only right that Fido – or Bella, Poppy or Alfie – are welcome, too. With five acres of gardens to romp and roam through during the day, our guests may find their dogs are fast asleep by suppertime. Whatever the weather, walkies are a wonderful way to clear away the cobwebs and enjoy lungfuls of delicious Devon air.”

Huntsham Court, which is available for private hire, boasts five grand reception rooms and extensive grounds that can comfortably accommodate up to 130 guests for large functions with smaller rooms available for more intimate events.

Huntsham Hounds is a range of special touches for well-behaved canine guests accompanying their owners and is complimentary. Additional bespoke services can be arranged on request including doggy friendly baked goods and professional dog grooming.
