If Possible, Make Love: Temporary Store in Bari between fashion, art and music

If Possible, Make Love: I start again from three. Thus, citing the title of the famous film by Massimo Troisi, Michele Armenise announces the upcoming opening of the Temporary Store of his IPML – If Possible Make Love brand in his hometown, Bari.

It’s not a casuality. For two reasons. The first is that this is the third appointment with his audience after the launch of the first collection in September 2019 with the fashion show-event entitled ‘Love in Wonderland’ in the gardens of the elegant nineteenthcentury complex of Villa De Sario in Bari, open exclusively for the occasion. And after the pop-up shop which, also in Bari, in December last year closed earlier than the 10 days scheduled for sold out of the proposed garments.

The second is that this will not be the simple temporary opening of a shop lasting two months, but the presentation of a brand and its wrapping studied by Michele in the smallest details as if it were a film set with the intent of interacting by involving the customer to feel part of the project. Like? This is where the reference to cinema returns because, unlike what is represented in the installation in the first store, in which the young designer had thought of a static display with special boxes on which the different models of trousers were exhibited as if they were paintings, the new store is a real permanent and dynamic art gallery.

In the Temporary Store in Via Andrea da Bari 78 with opening already scheduled for April 6 then postponed pending the new government provisions, in fact, some of the most interesting works of a emerging Apulian artist, Lella de Candia, meticulously chosen by the IPML designer who always points to originality, will be usable by customers, in a place with deliberately minimalist furnishings.

Some of the canvases exhibited by the painter from Bari are represented on the sweatshirts of the capsule collection characterized by the fluid line and the oriental fit ready to become a sort of mobile art gallery, a living and itinerant installation in which the paintings are transformed into “brushed” garments communicating with drawings and colors a way of experiencing art that is too broad to remain bound to the walls of a room.

While the iconic “Rose Logo” sweatshirt is offered in 5 different colors and combined with 5 tailored denim shades worked with different types of finishes and a T-shirt in 5 shades. The collection also includes two jacket and trouser suits, characterized by an obsessive attention to the materials used. The suit includes a jacket without buttoning, with a tailored fit and an abundant collar that matches the palazzo trousers in the same fabric. The buttoning is eliminated to reinforce the concept of unimax present throughout the collection, while the abundant volumes and geometric cuts characterize all the garments.

Brand naming, another characterizing and indispensable element of IPML – If Possible, Make Love, is shown as embroidery on the sweatshirts with a white hood in contrast with the pastel colors, while on the sweatshirts without hood there is the wording made in Puglia embroidered below the naming and the rose, symbol of the brand, in gray.

Music, together with art, will then animate the planned workshops in which the same customers will be able to paint three roses on the classic “Pants Rose” jogging chosen with the stencil technique.

Michele Armenise has chosen to present this new collection, the shooting of which was made in the Tolcinasco Golf Club, in his Bari, the city he loves, to bring everything back to a physical dimension that is now a necessary weapon against fear. With the love we need even more in this suspended and reflective time, because there is a great desire to look beyond the dark with young, fresh and contemporary garments.

Great attention was also paid to the materials: the fabrics used were purchased by the wellknown company Majotech, supplier of the most famous Italian brands.

Proposals, in the black and gray of the gabardine fabrics derived from Workwear in 100% cotton treated with a thermosensitive resin, alternate pastel colors, cathartic to tell people and the world. Because Michele is convinced of it: “clothes are a powerful communication with others”. So the white color used to obtain the pastels represents clarity, cleanliness, spirituality, purity, hope, expansiveness and openness. And the photos of the couple who spends their day in the golf club in the advertising campaign suggest an understanding that goes beyond the game: the two young are united by the desire to love, one of the main values that has inspired the IPML brand since the beginning together to passion, to pure and unfiltered sentiment.

The shop will be open for two months every day, except Tuesdays which will remain at the complete disposal of those who have booked their visit on the website www.ifpossiblemakelove.com who will have the opportunity to admire and try on the garments in complete tranquility.
