This season Jayne Pierson launched her Spring Summer 2018 Collection ‘..and God Created Woman’ in her first stand-alone show, as part of the British Fashion Council’s, London Fashion Week.
The catwalk show conceptualize the story of the contemporary woman and the dichotomy of spirituality and survival. She is a time traveller and has learnt to survive by whatever means. However, she hasn’t just survived, she’s thrived. She is the woman who has learned from the past and is empowered for the future.
‘..and God Created Women’ is inspired by historic shapes created with innovative techniques and luxury fabrics. The silhouettes in this collection are crafted in the spirit of luxury and pay homage to the cultural process of reclaiming artefacts.
Luxury takes on a brutal harmony, exploring and reabsorbing subcultural styles and commodification. Jayne Pierson also collaborates for the first time with Fashion Artefact designer Qi Zhang and again with the long-term friend, contemporary artist, Neale Howells.
..and God Created Woman’ SS18 integrates hand-painted leathers, denim and cotton with fitted silk satins, suede nubuck jumpsuits and pleated leather. Jayne exclusively introduces her diffusion range called JPL which is a mix of sport and leisurewear. Luxurious silk lycra and innovative technical fabrics mix with silk tulle, contrasting the structured architectural silhouettes. Colours are pale sand, baby blues, cobalt contrasting with tangerine, turquoise, ice white, and a pop of metallics.

Jayne Pierson creates directional, luxury womenswear that redefines the female form of empowering and uncompromising garments in leather pleating, luxe woven fabrics, future print, silks and draped leathers. Juxtaposing innovative material directions with avant-garde details inspired by a warped sense of history and intangible glitches in space and time, where historical references get confused and hybrids emerge. The collection encompasses high-end details and signature premium finishes. All garments are made in the UK.
