‘…and God Created Woman’
This season Jayne Pierson launches her Spring Summer 2018 Collection ‘..and God Created Woman’ in her first stand-alone show, as part of the British Fashion Council’s, London Fashion Week.
Jayne Pierson will showcase an exclusive, invitation only catwalk show at Conde Nast College, 16-17 Greek Street, Soho, London W1D 4DR on the 15th of September 2018 with show time at 5pm with the following after party at DRAMA, London Hilton on Park Lane, 35 Hertford Street, Mayfair London W1J 7SD from 11pm to 3am.
The catwalk show will conceptualize the story of the contemporary woman and the dichotomy of spirituality and survival. She is a time traveller and has learnt to survive by whatever means. However, she hasn’t just survived, she’s thrived. She is the woman who has learned from the past and is empowered for the future.
‘..and God Created Women’ is inspired by historic shapes created with innovative techniques and luxury fabrics. The silhouettes in this collection are crafted in the spirit of luxury and pay homage to the cultural process of reclaiming artefacts.
Luxury takes on a brutal harmony, exploring and reabsorbing sub cultural styles and commodification. Jayne Pierson also collaborates for the first time with Fashion Artefact designer Qi Zhang and again with long-term friend, contemporary artist, Neale Howells.
‘..and God Created Woman’ SS18 integrates hand-painted leathers, denim and cottons with fitted silk satins, suede nubuck jumpsuits and pleated leather. Jayne exclusively introduces her diffusion range called JPL which is a mix of sport and leisurewear. Luxurious silk lycra and innovative technical fabrics mix with silk tulle, contrasting the structured architectural silhouettes. Colours are pale sand, baby blues, cobalt contrasting with tangerine, turquoise, ice white, and a pop of metallics.
