LONDON, 9TH JUNE: Prof. Jimmy Choo’s JCA | London Fashion Academy BA Fashion: Design, Branding and Entrepreneurship (DBE) and BA Fashion Design and Accessories (DA) presented their debut collections at Haberdashers’ Hall on the 9th June 2025. After the show Andrew Ginn, Karen Millen OBE and Alison Lowe MBE presented five awards to designers who have produced outstanding graduating work. The Revelation show marked the first JCA award ceremony.
For the first time, JCA held an awards ceremony after the show in the courtyard of Haberdashers’ Hall, awarding a selection of students who have produced outstanding work over the past three years. The five categories were Collection of the Year 2025, Sustainability Award 2025, Brand Ready Award 2025, Special Creativity Award 2025 and Craftship Award 2025. The chosen winners were hand-selected by an all-female industry-based panel consisting of leading entrepreneurs Karen Millen OBE, Alison Lowe MBE, and journalist Astrid Joss (Tatler).
The first award, Craftship Award, presented by Karen Millen OBE was awarded to Kinar Ornika, founder of Kinar Ornika. Ornika’s debut collection, Siam Nostalgia, explores Thailand’s high fashion during the 1960s, whilst using traditional Thai textiles such as Thai raw silk.
The Special Creativity Award 2025 was presented by Alison Lowe MBE and awarded to Cherlyn Ornika, founder of ORNIKA by Cherlyn Ornika. The brand’s debut collection, Siam Love Language, drew inspiration from Loy Krathong Day, a day of celebration in which people craft baskets made from banana stems, decorating the sides by folding banana leaves into different shapes and placing flowers and candles in the basket. Ornika used Thai silk and manipulated the fabrics to replicate the banana leaf folding technique and Thai flowers ‘dork-ruk’. Making the flowers into silver and 18k gold-plated embellishments to decorate the creations is inspired by the meaningful crafts of Maalai, Bai Sri and Kra-thong.
The Brand Ready Award 2025 was presented by Karen Millen OBE and awarded to Kira McDermott founder of KI Collective. The collection featured six looks inspired by the contrast between the rigid beauty of modernist architecture and the elegance of historical structures. Each design aims to capture the dialogue between past and present, structure and flow.
The Sustainability Award 2025 was presented by Alison Lowe MBE and awarded to Cerys Reece, founder of YES-MAN. Each garment is sustainably made in-house, utilising deadstock and off-cut fabric, creating investment pieces and wearable works of art. Garments featuring manipulation are one-off pieces, making each piece inherently unique. When deciding on the collection theme, Reece drew her inspiration from personal experiences, ensuring emotion and understanding are felt throughout the designs.
The final award, Collection of the Year 2025 went to Olivia Parkinson, founder of London Fox. JCA CEO and Principal Andrew Ginn, presented the award to Parkinson for her innovative and creative collection. London Fox is a womenswear brand redefining motorcycle attire. The debut collection, Leather and Lace, features six looks inspired by the legendary 1960s Ace Cafe, home of Rocker culture. The collection mixes rebellious energy, vintage silhouettes, and modern safety technology, such as shoulder, back, elbow, and knee protectors. The brand aims to be AAA certified upon commercial production. From armoured denim jackets to moto-inspired jumpsuits and off-road separates, each piece embodies the essence of women who ride hard and live louder.
Andrew Ginn, CEO at JCA, comments “This is my first JCA fashion show, and it’s an honour to be able to see the collections come to life. Watching each look go down the runway is a really proud moment for myself and the Academy. The designers have been working all hours over the last year to make sure each design is an embodiment of their brand.”
The Revelation show saw 23 designers from DBE and DA, present six looks from their debut collection for the first time. Haberdashers’ Hall was filled with press, buyers, and key industry professionals, who joined JCA in celebrating the graduating class. Over the past three years, each designer has built, developed and designed their brand and debut collection. The show included a mix of womenswear, menswear, genderless and accessories pieces.
