    About Joseph

Joseph was born in Hillingdon, England and was brought up for the first twenty years of his life in Northolt and Buckinghamshire. When Joseph was twenty, he undertook a diploma course in Fashion Media and Communication at London College of Fashion. After graduating from this one year high intensity course, Joseph moved to London and enrolled on to the Creative Direction for Fashion course in the same institute where he fore filled three more years and gained his Bachelor of Art Degree.

During his studies Joseph undertook numerous internships. His favourite was working as a Set Design Assistant for a Set Designer who works predominantly across the fashion industry. After graduating from his studies in July 2015, Joseph began working as a freelance Art Director and Producer which later informed his decision to begin working as an Artist.

    His Art statement

I have always been into film and documentary, in particular the darker, sexual side. I am also very drawn to bold colours and surreal imagery.

    Joseph Stephen

These factors have helped me create a personal style for my own work. My images have a very unique, hyper-realistic feel to them. I use political, scientific and world issue subjects as a base, going on to reflect these subjects by creating an image of my interpretation. I inject pop colours and a high saturation to add an element of playfulness to the sometimes controversial subjects which I am portraying. My work is highly stylised.

    Joseph Stephen

I incorporate a lot of set design and make use of props to achieve the level of aesthetic that I am looking to looking to pull off. Apart from adjusting light and tones, I prefer not to use Photoshop in post-production.
