Jubel the brand was founded in 2017 by LCF Graduate, Jubel F. East London born, Jubel prides himself as someone who seeks inspiration from humour and admittedly doesn’t take himself or his designs too seriously in order to keep the creativity alive within his collections, by injecting a sense of fun into this work.

The Jubel label’s SS20 collection “Grandma goes Fishing” is dedicated to highlighting the plastic pollution issues in the Oceans across the world, while also taking inspiration from an older generation of women in South Korea who go fishing and scuba diving for their fish in order to feed their families. The silhouettes in the collection reference the work uniform of fishermen and the texture of the oceans they work on which translates through the tropical colour palette of the collection swept across woven knits, a scuba-style slit skirt and abstract prints.

With an emphasis on plastic, Jubel SS20 aims to tackle the plastic pollution issues within the industry face on. The majority of the pieces within the new collection are 100% sustainable with the yarn for the jumpers made from recycled fabrics, along with recycled plastic and nylon featuring throughout. Jubel SS20 aims to reignite the plastic pollution movement that we have seen beginning to occur within the industry in recent years.
