Inspired by the enchanting allure of traditional Chinese gardens and the timeless elegance of classical Oriental women, the 24SS series by Junyang encapsulates a dreamlike journey into a world of beauty and harmony. The collection paints a vivid tapestry of delicately woven florals and intricate blue and white porcelain motifs, evoking a sense of serenity and nostalgia.
“The series is like a dream, faintly seeing the blue and white porcelain placed in the corner pavilion, elaborately decorated flower arrangements, and women wearing sea beads. They formed a dream that could not be easily disturbed together,” shared Junyang, the visionary behind the brand.
“Dream in the Garden” stands as a testament to Junyang’s unique design philosophy of harmonizing traditional elegance with modern simplicity. The New-Chinese style showcased in the collection seamlessly integrates elements of classic Chinese culture with contemporary aesthetics, reflecting a deep respect for tradition and a keen understanding of evolving fashion trends.
The careful selection of colors and fabrics adds a layer of sophistication to the collection. Custom silk and handmade fabrics, adorned with intricate embroidery, floral weavings, and hand-dyeing techniques, elevate the garments to wearable works of art. Junyang’s personal journey and cultural background are woven into every design, showcasing a fusion of traditional painting techniques learned from an early age with the global fashion influences acquired during studies at RMIT University. “My aim is to communicate Oriental culture to more people through understanding different cultures,” shared the designer.
“Junyang’s designs bring a fresh perspective to the fashion landscape, igniting interest in and exploration of Eastern culture,” adding that Junyang’s collection contributes innovation and creativity to the London Fashion Week stage.
