“How many times have I been overwhelmed and snuck into the bathroom to take a breath?”
Maybe the curse of being an introvert, maybe a universal truth. We cannot always be on display. Sometimes that first taste where the door closes and it’s just me is so freeing I feel overwhelmed, like vertigo almost. Is the moment sweeter because it is temporary? The constant reminder of muffled voices on the other side of the door keeps bringing me back. But even as I open the door and return to the crowd, the peace lingers a while.
Krucible returns with Piece of Mind, Part II in its evolving Urban Oasis series. A collection shaped by tension, tactility, and emotional honesty. Part II invites its audience into a constructed moment of stillness: a multi sensory reflection on identity, fragility, and the desire for pause.
At the heart of Piece of Mind is Creative Director Alexander Barakat’s exploration of duality – between natural and synthetic, softness and structure, self and environment. Designed and hand-crafted in Krucible’s London studio by the self-taught designer, the collection is built around deliberate contrasts: flowerlike deadstock silk bias cuts layered under sharp vegan leather tailoring, washed cottons frayed by hand, and asymmetric silhouettes that resist perfection. Barakat views asymmetry as the ultimate expression of luxury, and the enemy of mass production.
Each piece embodies Krucible’s core philosophy of fragile armour, clothing that protects while remaining profoundly vulnerable.
This tension also reflects Krucible’s deeper values: a resistance to mass production in favour of emotional resonance. Each garment takes up to 14 days to create, crafted to order using luxury deadstock fabrics and a made-to-measure approach. This method reduces waste and ensures every piece becomes personal – an object of memory as much as design.
The campaign imagery, shot on analog film using hand-built sets across Morocco and the UK, places the collection in surrealist environments that reflect the brand’s immersive ethos. These landscapes come to life in Krucible’s expanding interactive digital showroom, where each look, object, and texture is shoppable and tied to its world.
With a design language that spans menswear and womenswear, Krucible offers clothing that fluidly navigates identity and silhouette. Krucible’s universe now stretches beyond clothing. Part II includes a selection of one-of-a-kind vintage objects, such as artisanal brass taps from Morocco, items that echo the tactile richness of the collection and extend its story into the home.
The theme of Urban Oasis remains constant across all drops: a moment of peace within chaos. First seeded when Barakat’s own garden became an escape from the city, this idea continues to shape the narrative — nature’s quiet resilience set against the synthetic architecture of modern life.
Part II: Piece of Mind is available now, exclusively at www.krucible.world and the story will continue with Part III ‘Home is Where the Heart is’ due to be released in June 2025.
