LOIS GROOM, 13 years old. Lois joined the modelling industry at 9 years old, it took a long time for her to be accepted to an agency because she has a disability, there wasn’t much diversity at the time and once an agency opened that represented solely those with disabilities she was snapped up.
Within 6 months she went to a casting for River Island kids and not long after we got the call to say she was successful, she went on to model for them several times, which she absolutely loved. When she joined River Island she was part of a campaign ‘Labels are for clothes’ this gained a huge amount of interest and suddenly Lois’ face was all across the national press, in no time the story went global and her face was shown on a tv talk show in Australia. Lois was interviewed by newspapers, tv and on the radio.
She was also very lucky to star in CBBC show ‘Changing the Face of Beauty’ a popular documentary and also filmed a piece for a German tv documentary. Since then Lois has moved into a mainstream agency hoping to blend more and have the same opportunities as a child without disability. Lois loves to walk the catwalk and has shown designer collections at both House of Ikons and Liverpool fashion week and she has proudly represented Love Collection wearing amazing pretty gowns.
She has worked on a part in a big film that has been delayed due to coronavirus but we can’t wait to see it. Lois loves to be involved in charity and awareness campaigns and is often involved in fundraising. Lois loves the experience and making new friends. She loves being a model.
