Musical theatre star Lucie Jones will represent the United Kingdom at the 62nd Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place this May in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Lucie Jones took to the stage alongside five other hopefuls who all competed for the honour of representing the United Kingdom at Eurovision 2017. Everything happend in a live 90-minute musical fantastic show on BBC Two, presented by Mel Giedroyc.
Lucie Jones will be performing Never Give Up On You, written by The Treatment, Emmelie de Forest and Lawrie Martin.
”It’s a very emotional song for me. Even thinking about it is quite moving.” said the winner of Eurovision: You Decide 2017.

She starred as the lead in Ghost, Legally Blonde and Les Miserables
Musical theatre star Lucie Jones has been singing for as long as she can remember. Back in 2015, she toured Asia in the musical Ghost, playing the lead character Molly Jensen. She’s also starred as the lead in Legally Blonde, Les Miserables and Rent.
“I’m very excited; I’m still shaking a little bit. I can’t believe that people chose me. How wonderful is that? Representing the UK as a singer, it’s such an honour. I will not let you down. I will do everything I can to make you proud.” said Lucie Jones, who is also a former X Factor star.
Eurovision: You Decide was broadcast live on BBC Two from The Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith on Friday 27 February, featuring performances by six competing acts. And the winner was decided by a combination of viewer and expert jury votes.

Special guest in London: Alexander Rybak, 2009 Eurovision Song Contest winner

As well as the acts’ performances, the 90-minute live show from BBC Music and BBC Studios featured performances from 2009 Eurovision Song Contest winner, Alexander Rybak and The Vamps.

Will be lucky 13th in Kyiv?

The 62nd Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Kyiv, Ukraine. The Semi Finals will be broadcast on Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 May on BBC Four, and the Grand Final will be broadcast on 13 May on BBC One.
”I was always been a fan of Eurovision. I used to watch it since I was a child. It’s such a massive event. I can’t wait to get there! And I have a favorite Eurovision act, a completely random one, is actually from Ukraine, Shaidy lady.” said Lucie at the press conference organized after winning Eurovision: You Decide.
