A total of 40 designers make up exciting line-up of catwalk shows for the 77th Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, Spain’s top fashion week, from 15 to 19 February. More than 200 professionals will be busy working behind the scenes to make the magic happen (hair stylists, makeup artists, models, ironers, dressers… and the organiser’s staff). Over the last 39 years, the event, organised by IFEMA MADRID with support from Madrid City Council, has become established as a major driving force behind Spain’s fashion industry.

MBFWMadrid will kick off on 15 February with its traditional exclusive OFF catwalk shows that will take place in different venues in the Community of Madrid. The following day, on Thursday, 16 February and until Saturday, 18 February, Hall 14.1 at IFEMA MADRID’s Recinto Ferial will host catwalk shows by established designers. Then, on Sunday, 19 February, emerging designers will show their latest creations under the Allianz EGO umbrella.

 

Established designers

Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada will be the first of the established designers to grace the catwalk at 12.30, followed by Andrés Sarda at 12.30h and Jorge Vázquez at 14h. Canary designer Paloma Suárez will resume the session at 16.00 followed by Pablo Erroz, who will present his genderless collection at 17.30, followed by Encinar (making his début at IFEMA MADRID) and, in the same way as the previous edition, Pedro del Hierro will bring the first day of catwalks to an end with his show at 20.30.

 

On Friday, fashion brand Otrura will be first to show at 11.00, followed by Valencian designer Isabel Sanchís at 12.30. At 14.00 Hannibal Laguna will present his new collection before Roberto Torretta takes over at 16.00. Duarte will star in the 17.30 slot and Catalan designer Teresa Helbig will delight her audience at 19.00. L’Oréal Paris will close the day’s shows with a special event called ‘Show your worth’.

 

And as the finishing touch to the line-up of this edition, Odette Álvarez will début as an established artist at 11.00, starting the proceedings on Saturday, followed by Garcia Madrid at 12.30 – back after several editions in the OFF programme, then Fely Campo at 13.30, and a newcomer to MBFWMadrid, Maya Hansen, at 14.30. Custo Barcelona will start the afternoon with its show at 16.00, and at 17.30, Claro Couture will take to the catwalk, followed by Lola Casademunt by Maite at 19.30. At 20.00, ‘Morocco, Kingdom of Light’, a double catwalk show by Morocco’s two most international designers who are also industry favourites, Maison ARTC and Albert Oiknine will delight existing and new fans.

 

Sunday, 19 February

A total of nine promising, emerging designers in the industry will show their collections at the Allianz EGO fashion show on Sunday: Adrià Egea, Aitor Goicoechea, Alejandre, Charlie Suits, Fátima Miñana, Guillermo Décimo, Sabela Juncal, 93 Sierra/Crossed and Reparto (Winner of the Allianz EGO Confidence in Fashion Award at MBFWMadrid in September 2022).

 

OFF Programme

The first day will be devoted entirely to designers taking part in the MBFWMadrid OFF programme, with shows taking place in different venues of Madrid on 15 February. The designers taking part are María Lafuente, Viriato, Ángel Schlesser, Rafael Urquízar, Pertegaz, Pilar Dalbat, Eduardo Navarrete, Roberto Verino and Félix Ramiro. Ahead of this, on 14 February at 19.30, at the Real Fábrica de Tapice, ESNE Universidad de Diseño y Tecnología (Design and Technology Museum), will present Paranoia, a collection created by 38 ESNE designers.
