It was a night of glitz and glamour at the 7th Annual MISS USSR UK held on 27th April 2019 at London’s Hilton Park Lane.  It’s a pageant that unites women from across the former Soviet countries, and it was a resounding success this year. VIP’s, celebrities, businessmen, press and more were all in attendance on the night.

Miss Armenia 18-year old Anhelina Chobanyan won the title and fought off stiff competition from fellow nominees and runners up: 1st Vice-Miss went to Russian model Ksenia Ocheredko, and the title of 2nd Vice-Miss went Laura Mukhtar, representing Kazakhstan. Other contestants came from various countries including Latvia, Lithuania, and of course Russia.

The pageant was Hosted by X Factor star, singer and creative producer of MISS USSR Irina Dedyuk and featured performances by Tony Moore (ex-Iron Maiden) and singer and legend of Boney M Sheyla Bonnick. Some of the 11 contestants travelled to London from abroad for the contest, while some are based in London.

The contestants were presented initially in their national costumes with video introductions of the contestants, and then a catwalk in swimwear by Afina London was next. Q&A with the contestants took place next in beautiful dresses made by Stepanets Fashion House of Sochi, Russia. The final competition round was the high fashion dress catwalk of the contestants in dresses by Sylwia Romanuik Couture. The winners were then announced, and then everyone danced the night away.
