Drawing profound inspiration from her heritage, Zhang embarks on a captivating journey through the annals of traditional Chinese medicine. Here, 24 different healing herbs take center stage, each meticulously crafted into sophisticated and romantic designs, blurring the lines between fashion and cultural expression.

The colour palette is a masterpiece in itself, with radiant yellow, calming cyan, earthy salt pink, and serene jade harmoniously coming together. These colours adorn a selection of organic and therapeutic fabrics such as silk, cotton, and linen, transforming them into garments that are as soothing to the soul as they are stylish.

MITHRIDATE’s iconic moth motif takes on a new guise this season as the ghost moth, symbolizing healing and transformation. This ethereal creature graces the collection with its presence, adorning garments with enchanting patterns, embellishing layered accessories, and intricately embroidered motifs that evoke a sense of metamorphosis.

Demon Zhang seamlessly marries tradition with modernity, blending oriental cutting techniques and the artistry of Southwest China’s bean dyeing alongside contemporary laser cutting and hydraulic spray painting. The result is a harmonious fusion of heritage and innovation, where every piece tells a story of evolution.

In Zhang’s signature maximalist style, the collection plays with textures that flow like poetry, creating a dance of light and shadow that adds depth and dimension to each ensemble. Layering becomes a metaphor for the layers of healing and rejuvenation that one can experience through fashion.

MITHRIDATE’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection transcends the realm of fashion, offering a transformative experience that merges cultural heritage with contemporary artistry. Demon Zhang’s vision is not merely a collection of garments; it’s an invitation to embark on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and renewal. This is fashion as a form of therapy, where each piece becomes a conduit for inner peace and harmony.
