Mossi Traoré, for his Spring-Summer 2026 collection, set out to reinterpret traditional notions of death and its place in culture. For him, it was important to present it not as an end, but as a process of transition and transformation. Through the play of silhouettes, textures, and historical references, the designer seeks to speak about continuity and the cyclical nature of life, about how the past connects with the present to shape a new future.
Asymmetry, layered draping, and fluid silhouettes evoke the passage of time. White, black, sandy tones, and gradients reflect transitions from beginning to end. Eras collide in looks: bloomer trousers with a tailored jacket, organza draped over a basic T-shirt.
A voluminous black gown with a covered head at the finale of the show embodied the threshold between sorrow and light. Mossi once again revealed fashion as a symbiosis of structure and building.
