There are lots of places to stay in London’s West End. Sure you can stay in the heart, if you don’t mind loud voices and music right outside your window, trash and god knows what else on the sidewalk, where you will overpay for your small room. Or you can stay on the edge of the West End where there’s no noise or mess outside, where the rooms are big, the food is great, the ambience perfect, and the prices just right.

The new NYX Hotel, a brand new lifestyle hotel in Holborn, on the corner of Southampton Row and Bloomsbury Way, is only two minutes from Holborn tube station, and is in a perfect spot. Only a five to ten minute walk to the West End’s theatres and restaurants, yet a world away, NYX Hotel has 213 rooms, with a stylish New York City-like ground floor bar, perfect for people watching. The Hotel has a great restaurant on the first floor, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and in the basement there is the Rena Spa which offers swimming and relaxation, with a gym large enough to make you sweat and build muscle. And if that wasn’t enough the walls of the hotel are immersed with amazing graffiti art by local artist Dan Kitchener, with an emphasis on London specific pieces. And to top it all off there are Retro Video games in the lobby that take you back to the 1980’s when they were in almost every bowling alley and games palaces; Pac-man, Donkey Kong, Tetris – and more – hours and hours of fun.

And the rooms? Well, the Leonardo Group, who owns this same space where a Jurys Inn was previously, have re-branded, re-fit, and re-done the space, where the rooms have been modernized to a high standard, with edgy art on the walls, colors not too bright nor not too dull, well-appointed hallways, comfortable beds, mini-bars fully stocked, and with snacks galore to boot. The rooms are very cosy and comfortable, power showers in the bathrooms, plenty of lighting, robes and slippers and plenty of towels for your convenience, free high-speed WiFi, and room service if you and your partner don’t want to leave your room (available 7am to midnight). You can opt to stay in one of the smaller rooms (Little Star) or the larger Down to Earth, Space, Super Star or the massive Heaven room – 45 sqm with a SuperKing bed. Now that’s luxury! The best part of the hotel, besides all of the above, was also the breakfast buffet. The choices were endless, with a chef ready to cook your eggs any way you want, plus bacon, sausage, hash browns, plenty of choices of cereals and juices, unlimited (and tasty) coffee, meat, cheeses and crudite all safely wrapped, plus bread and pastries, and lots lots more.

And to top it off, NYX Hotel has announced two unmissable events with Globe Girls (17th July).
