While most designers like Giorgio Armani and Laura Biagiotti opted for cancelling their shows because of the news about the coronavirus spreading in Milan, Philip Plein decided to make the show to go on and it was one of the best performances of this troubled Milan Fashion Week.

The enormous location (the Milan Fair) was literally shining bright being decorated by “golden” helicopters, planes, cars and boats situated in the main room near the catwalk. The number of luxury objects shown was overwhelming. Gold was the colour of the evening with all the lights being extremely yellowish. The show started when Plein himself appeared on stage. He presented his new collection of ladies’ and gents’ outfits as well as the new perfume “No Limits”. Phillip made a little speech suggesting everybody to believe in themselves like he did when he started his designer career.

One of the most famous rappers of the moment Tyga rocked the stage as actress Jada Pinkett Smith opened the show wearing a custom biker leather jacket and sparkling tight pants. Together with the classic models that hit the runway Plain was brave to invite to act as models older ladies like Maye Musk (mother of Elon Musk) and famed German photographer Ellen von Unwerth with a camera in her hand. Both ladies were wearing leopard printed jackets and were looking extremely elegant. The other stars of the show were Hollywood actress Olivia Culpo, You Tube celebrity Gigi Gorgeous, actor Cameron Dallas. The idea to show all sorts of ages and body shapes looking stylish dressed up in Plein was a winner and gave the show an original twist.

Designer Plein invited as well influencers of different age and body types from different social platforms and different countries to show that his fashion is accessible for anyone.

Animal print was prevailing in the new collection along with the custom Plein leather motorcycle jackets decorated by the famous skull symbol. Gold colour was the leitmotiv and even over knee-high boots were made of golden faux leather together with very short sensual dresses. Black evening jackets were decorated with Swarovski elements and sparkly snake figures. Pink color was also an important element with models wearing flashy pink fur coats and golden helmets. The most impressive part of the show was the one where the designer showed elegant evening dresses in purple and black colour with high splits and low cleavage. The show was as usual very” rock and roll” style with an extremely luxurious and international appeal obviously dedicated to different generations of Plein followers.
The final part of the show was praising the late basketball player Kobe Bryant when Plein himself together with Jada Pinkett Smith, Olivia Culpo and other models walked the runway wearing basketball outfits made by the designer as a tribute to the famous sportsman.

“No Limits” was the name of Philipp Plein’s new perfume and so was the main theme of the fashion show. Plein threw a “no limits” show “to remember” proving that nothing is impossible even in these unstable times of the coronavirus and there is no place for fear in the kingdom of fashion.
