Pop-rock quartet The Mild West release ode to self doubt ‘Pathetic’

Since 2018, The Mild West has made a splash in the Chicago music scene with their energetic performances and lively early singles. Borrowing from a wide variety of pop-rock powerhouses such as The Killers and Walk the Moon, the band’s sound drips with soaring melodies, catchy hooks, and powerful delivery.

The Mild West are now ready to unveil their first soaring single of the year, ‘Pathetic’. The vibrant track is an ode to self doubt, exploring the traps of comparison and digital anxiety.

In their own words about the ‘Pathetic’, the band shared, “This happy-sounding sad song is about never feeling good enough in an increasingly picture-perfect world of social media perfectionism. Despite this darkness, it serves as an anthem to remind yourself how “enough” you are when the world tries to make you feel like you’re falling behind.”

‘Pathetic’ is the first in a stream of singles set to release this year that will make up their sophomore EP entitled ‘Strangers’. The 5-track project will further showcase The Mild West’s versatility and unique artistry with a collection of singles that flaunt their finely tuned production, rich layering and thoughtful lyricism.

The Mild West continues to capture new audiences and surprise loyal fans with classic rock energy cloaked in a neatly packaged power-pop aesthetic, garnering huge local support from the Daily Herald and Chicago Soundcheck as well as tens of thousands of streams.

‘Pathetic’ is slated to release on March 3, 2023
