UK’s biggest cabaret dining experience with nightly shows Thursday-Saturday – Opens 12 April

Alex Proud today officially announces the launch of Proud Embankment, the Proud Group’s new flagship club which is set to become the UK’s biggest, most spectacular dinner-cabaret experience.

PROUD CABARET LONDON BY JAMES ALEXANDER CHAPMAN 2018 004
Located between Somerset House and the Savoy Hotel, directly under the Grade II listed Waterloo Bridge and right by the river, this cabaret club is the latest, greatest addition to the Northbank – which is set to become London’s next major cultural quarter.

Proud Embankment will combine elements of design from East and West – the gilded opulence of contemporary Singapore and the smoky velveteen sensuality of Paris in the 1920s – all in an incredible, original Art Deco interior and an enormous, grand double-height atrium capable of accommodating spectacular aerial performances. The majestic two-storied venue boasts a dining capacity of 450, making it the largest cabaret restaurant of its kind in the UK.

Space allows for a spectacular array of conceptual shows, fusing modern circus, cabaret and classic burlesque; think Baz Luhrmann meets Cirque du Soleil as an immersive cabaret-dining experience. Guests can dine while they enjoy the entertainment, ordering from a delicious, healthy pan-Asian supper club menu. Or they can watch from the first-floor cocktail lounge – the best place to appreciate the aerial acrobatics.

After dinner, the tables are cleared away and the venue explodes into a dazzling 750-capacity nightclub with late-night shows, taking you into the early hours of the morning. Proud Embankment is the only place in London where the perfect dinner and the best shows segue seamlessly into a dazzling, decadent late-night party. Carriages are at 5 am.

Proud Embankment’s first programme of live evening entertainment will feature three shows each with their own hugely distinct style of performance, aesthetic, soundtrack and attitude, all directed by acclaimed choreographer Claira Vaughan, whose credits include Dusty the Musicland Stepping Out, as well as the London 2012 Olympics and Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics opening and closing ceremonies, and the 2017 FA Cup Final.

On Thursdays Proud Embankment will become Proud Big Top – a jaw-dropping, gravity-defying-fire breathing circus extravaganza starring Cyr Wheel supremo (and Britain’s Got Talent star) Billy George, pole and hoop maverick Sasha Flexy, the Omni talented Abi Collins(as seen in La Clique), the incredible infusion of acrobatics and dance known as Les Deux Ailes and contortionist extraordinaire Teagz.

Friday sees Proud put a deliciously contemporary twist on a classic Parisian cabaret in Lady Marmalade – which fuses full choreographed numbers by Proud’s illustrious Can Can dancers with performances from the likes of internationally renowned performers Miss Betsy Rose, Jolie Papillon and Didi Derriere.

Those three will then join forces with the exquisite Missy Fatale and a host of other top-class performers to form The Secret Burlesque Society. A sensual prohibition-era adventure of music, dance, aerial performance, fire and a whole host of surprises.

    Alex Proud said:

“We jumped at the chance to take over this magnificent space and will fill it with the greatest shows on earth. Today’s Instagram-weary generation is craving real-life, user-experiences, and Proud Embankment – with its breath-taking shows, delicious meals and sumptuous cabaret – is the epitome of that.”
